2016 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in seven games • made 16 tackles and broke up three passes. Game-by-Game: Made his season and Gopher debut against Iowa and recorded two tackles with one pass breakup • saw action against Maryland • tallied four tackles against Illinois • registered three tackles against Purdue • notched three tackles against Nebraska • broke up one pass and recorded four tackles against Northwestern • competed against Wisconsin.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Southfield High School, where he played defensive back and receiver • led team to 9-4 overall record, 6-1 mark in league play and a Division 2 regional championship as a senior • made three interceptions and broke up eight passes on defense and caught nine touchdowns on offense • named Detroit News First-Team All-State as a defensive back and was an All-Metro North selection • limited to two games as a junior because of an injury • coached by Tim Conley • also lettered in track • ranked as a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports and Scout • ESPN had him as the No. 12 player in Michigan, while Rivals had him at No. 13 and 247Sports had him at No. 15 • Scout listed him as the 57th best corner (third best in Michigan), while ESPN ranked him at No. 79 • 247Sports listed him as the No. 97 athlete in his class.

PERSONAL: Born June 3, 1997 • son of Ray and Keonda Buford • has one brother (Anthony) and one sister (Alicia) • father, Ray, played football at Wayne State University.
