Mills Armbruster joined Gopher Sports Marketing in June 2017 as an Assistant Director of Marketing and was promoted to his current role of Assistant Athletics Director in July 2023. He plays an integral role within the external team by leading marketing efforts to drive revenue & attendance as well as broad based engagement that deepens affinity to Gopher Athletics.
He serves as the primary marketing contact for Minnesota Football and manages the GSM Student Internship program. Mills is also the sport administrator for the National Champion University of Minnesota Spirit Squad. In addition to his role with the Gophers, he has assisted with the marketing & production of the 2022 NCAA Women’s Final Four, B1G Football and Baseball championships, NFL Super Bowl LII, 2019 NCAA Minneapolis Final Four, and the USWNT Victory Tour.
Prior to arriving at Minnesota, he served as the Marketing Graduate Assistant at Georgia Tech where he oversaw marketing efforts for baseball, women’s basketball, softball, and m/w tennis. He also served as the in-game audio producer for football and managed on-court activations for men’s basketball.
Armbruster also spent two seasons with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals as the Corporate Sales, Marketing, and Broadcasting coordinator from 2013-14 and worked every home game, including the 2013 NFL Wild Card Playoffs, and oversaw the Bengals Training Camp VIP experience.
A native of Williamsburg, Virginia, Armbruster received his bachelor’s degree in Integrated Strategic Marketing from the University of Kentucky in 2014 and his master’s degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State University in 2017.
