Zack Lucas joined the University of Minnesota football staff in January 2025 as the Director of Football Program Operations and Administration.
Lucas came to Minnesota from UCF where he was the Director of Football Operations for the 2024 season.
Prior to his time at UCF, Lucas was the Director of Football Operations at the University of the Incarnate Word, at the University of Hawaii and at Texas State. During his collegiate career he has overseen all daily aspects of a program, managed staff and served as a liaison between football and athletic administration, donors and boosters.
Between his stints at Texas State and Hawaii, he spent time with the New York Jets as their Football Operations Assistant. With the Jets, he assisted the Director of Football Operations with all logistics for training camp, housing, transportation, and meals. Lucas also assisted in coordinating the travel logistics for all home and away games, college all-star games and the NFL Scouting Combine.
Lucas also has an extensive background in football equipment, as he was previously the head equipment manager at Texas State and worked in equipment at Florida State.
Lucas received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Oklahoma State University, where he was also the head student equipment manager.
Lucas and his wife, Meghan, have three children (Lacey, Julia and Zachary).
