2024 Outdoor Track & Field • Redshirt Freshman Season: Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team... Competed five times during the outdoor season... Opened with a 1500m at the Hurricane Invitational, putting forth a time of 3:55.82 to finish eighth... Clocked a 3000m steeplechase season-best time of 9:08.40 at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, finishing 11th overall... Was 11th at the Gary Wilson Invitational in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:22.45.
2023 Cross Country • Redshirt Freshman Season: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten team... Ran five times during the cross country team as a member of the Gophers lineup... Started the season at the Oz Memorial... Was seventh on the team, and 25th overall, at the Badger Classic in a time of 25:20.1... Ran a season-best 8K time of 25:10.9 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet in Charlottesville, Va.... Was second on the team at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships, putting down an 8K time of 25:40.3 to finish 51st overall... HIGH SCHOOL: Made huge leaps in 2022, bringing home state titles in the 1600m and the 3200m at the Division 1 level in Wisconsin... He dropped his 1600m time six seconds to win his state title and dropped 23 seconds from 2021 in his 3200m time to win his 3200m crown... Ward also earned a fourth-place finish at the Wisconsin cross country state championships last season.
