The team's David Winfield Pitcher of the Year · had a 4.31 ERA and 4-6 record · led Minnesota with 71 strikeouts in a team-high 87.2 innings · ranked seventh in the Big Ten in innings at the end of the regular season, and ranked second within conference play with 56.1 innings pitched · ranked fifth in the Big Ten in strikeouts during the regular season and seventh during Big Ten play (38) · eighth in conference play with an opponent batting average of .239 · the only Gopher pitcher to start all 14 weekends of the season · CoSIDA Academic All-District · Academic All-Big Ten. Academic All-Big Ten Team · pitched a total of 64.1 innings (second most on team) with a 2.80 ERA, striking out 49 while only walking 11 · went 5-4 and was tied for second on the team in wins · set career highs in strikeouts (49), games started (8), innings pitched (64.1), and wins (5) · second on the team with strikeouts (49) · his eight starts were third most on the team · led team in strikeouts-looking with 23 · held batters to a 2.14 ERA in his last eight appearances (21 IP) · won three straight starts (3/2-16) · lasted 8.0 innings against Utah (3/2) allowing no earned runs, striking out five, and walking none in win · again pitched 8.0 innings in his next start against Western Illinois, he picked up the win while allowing one earned and striking out six · pitched a complete-game shutout in a 3-0 win over Indiana St. (3/16) setting a career high in strike outs (11) · had four straight appearances without allowing a run (4/14-5/8) · came in relief against Illinois (5/17) pitching 4.1 innings, allowing no runs and striking out five · pitched in the Big Ten Tournament against Illinois and picked up the win in 4.0 scoreless relief innings.
