Corey Peterson joined the University of Minnesota Athletic Performance staff in June 2016 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Performance and currently works with Soccer and Men’s Swimming. 

Peterson completed his undergraduate education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D., in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science. During his time at Augustana, he worked as a volunteer intern in the Strength & Conditioning department assisting with Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Track & Field, Softball and Wrestling. Peterson worked as a volunteer intern for the Minnesota Wild (NHL) from 2011 to 2015 and the University of Minnesota in 2015.

He also was an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Training Center and an Assistant Director of Sport Science at Performance Athletix from 2011 - 2015. Prior to coming to the Gophers in 2016, he was a Sports Performance Coach at Stanford University working primarily with Football, Men’s Swimming and Women’s Lacrosse.

Peterson completed his graduate education at the University of Minnesota in 2016 with a Master of Education degree in Sport & Exercise Science.

Originally from Stillwater, Minn., Peterson is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and has USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Certification. He also holds certification in Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) and Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR) Level 1 and Level 2.

He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minn.
