Carly Anderson, Ph.D., LP, CMPC is a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Mental Performance Consultant who has led mental health and sport psychology services for Gopher Athletics since 2011. In that role, she oversees a team of sport psychology staff responsible for programming, outreach, and counseling for more than 580 student-athletes, along with care coordination, team support, and staff consultation. She serves on the Big Ten Mental Health Advisory Group and contributes to the University of Minnesota System-wide Mental Health Learning & Collaboration Network.

Dr. Anderson is listed on the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Mental Health and Mental Performance Directories, the NFL Players Association Mental Health Referral Directory, and the National Basketball Players Association Directory of Mental Health Service Providers.

Beyond her university work, Dr. Anderson co-owns Premier Sport Psychology, PLLC alongside her husband, Justin Anderson. Through the practice, she helps oversee sport psychology services for athletes and performers in private practice, the PWHL's Minnesota Frost, and Team USA athletes in Women's Hockey and Curling. She has served as a national team staff member at the 2018, 2022, and 2026 Olympic Winter Games, and in 2018 was honored with the United States Olympic Order of Ikkos Medallion — an award presented by team members in recognition of her contribution to their success.

A Seattle native, Dr. Anderson earned her B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA, where she was also a competitive gymnast and won three NCAA national team championships. She went on to complete her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in sport psychology, at the University of North Texas. Her predoctoral internship was completed through the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program, and she was an NCAA research grant recipient whose work focused on the well-being of female athletes at Division I institutions nationwide.From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Anderson worked at the Melrose Center and contributed to the National Eating Disorders Association's Coach & Trainer Toolkit. 

Dr. Anderson is authorized to practice telepsychology as a PSYPACT psychologist. She is a professional member of the American Psychological Association's Division 47 (Sport Psychology) and Division 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race), the Minnesota Psychological Association, and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
