Stephanie A. Davis joined the Golden Gophers in 2017 and is currently the Senior Associate Athletics Director, where she has helped shape a comprehensive and diverse perspective that remains mission-forward and stakeholder-centric.
As a member of Senior Staff, serves as the sport administrator for seven Golden Gopher teams: womenās tennis, menās cross country, womenās cross country, womenās gymnastics, womenās indoor track & field, menās outdoor track & field, and womenās outdoor track & field. She also serves as the director for both the Gopher Athletics Internship Program and the Gopher Graduation Program, an initiative to help former Gopher student-athletes return to Minnesota and complete their undergraduate degrees. She also currently oversees equipment management and information technology.Ā
Previously, as the Associate Athletics Director of Event Management, Davis was responsible for the athletics departmentās event operations, securing and executing national championships and large-scale events across the Twin Cities and overseeing operations in the campusās athletic venues. She managed the contracts with BEST Crowd Management, Aramark Sports + Entertainment, and services provided by city and campus partners. Davisās committee work included the Universityās Major Events Committee and the College Football Playoffās Expansion Focus Group. She was also a lead on the team implementing the campus and community vaccination clinics at Huntington Bank Stadium. As an advocate for merging educational opportunities with event initiatives, Davis has coordinated graduate classes with national championships and large-scale rentals hosted by the state of Minnesota. Transitioning out of events, Davis's leadership shone through in her final project, serving as the Universityās co-lead for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, leaving a lasting impact on this significant event.Ā
Before her tenure at Minnesota, Davis spent nearly 14 years in equipment management, compliance, facility operations, and event management at various institutions, including Florida, Houston, Georgia Tech, Rice, and Miami. This work included strategic planning, university governance, and capital projects, such as the opening of the Byers Tennis Complex and McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, as well as contributing to the successful execution of the 2013 NCAA Menās Final Four and 2013 Menās Golf National Championships.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Davis received her bachelorās degree in anthropology from the University of Florida and a masterās degree in sports administration from Georgia State University.Ā Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate in kinesiology at the University of Minnesota, further enhancing her academic credentials and expertise in the field.
