The Pioneers scored four times in the first period and never looked back as they defeated Minnesota 5-0 in Denver, Colo., Sunday night. Denver goalie Stephen followed up his 43 saves on Saturday with 32 more in the rematch.

Denver lit the lamp four times within six minutes of the first period. Jon Newman started the enslaught with a goal at 4:06 of the period.

After a scoreless second period, freshman goalie Adam Hauser was pulled from goal with more than ten minutes to play in an attempt to generate more scoring chances against Wagner. DU's James Patterson though found the empty net from center ice to give the Pioneers a 5-0 lead.

The Golden Gophers return to action on Friday with the first of two games against Minnesota State, Mankato at Mariucci Arena.
