MEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM FINISHES SEVENTH IN WINDY CITY INVITE

seconThe University of Minnesota men's gymnastics opened its 1999 season by finishing seventh at the Windy City Open Saturday night in Chicago, Ill. The University of Iowa won the competition for its second straight Windy City title.

The highest finisher for the Golden Gophers was senior Jason Krob, who posted a score of 9.700 on his specialty event, the pommel horse. His score was good enough to earn second place. The next highest finisher for Minnesota was junior Lindsey Fang, who scored a 9.550 on the vault.

The Golden Gophers open the home part of their 1999 schedule next Saturday at 1 p.m. with the annual Alumni meet which will be held in the Sports Pavilion.
