LESNAR NAMED BIG TEN WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

ClUniversity of Minnesota junior heavyweight wrestler Brock Lesnar was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week after pinning four straight opponents at the Cliff Keen/N.W.C.A. National Wrestling Duals in Iowa City, Iowa last weekend.

Lesnar, a junior college transfer from Bismarck Junior College in North Dakota, joined the Golden Gophers Jan. 4. Since then he has jumped from being ranked ninth to second in the country by Amateur Wrestling News and has compiled an overall record of 7-1. Last weekend Lesnar pinned No.2 ranked Wes Hand of Iowa in 2:36 to secure a 21-14 win over the third-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes in the semifinals of the National Duals.
