NO. 2 GOLDEN GOPHER WRESTLERS DEFEAT NO. 14 MICHIGAN STATE

Minnesota dominated from the beginning with No.1 ranked Chad Kraft chalking up his 13th victory of the season with a 9-4 decision over Cory Posey at 157. At 165, senior Josh Holiday, ranked fifth in the nation, scored five points for the Maroon and Gold with a 21-6 technical fall decision over Kevin Spiess. Junior Brandon Eggum, ranked No. 1 in the nation at 184, followed in Holiday1s footsteps and recorded a 26-10 technical fall decision over Nik Fekete.
The Golden Gophers won the next three matches. No. 1 ranked Tim Hartung increased his overall record to 23-0 with a 15-6 major decision over No. 7 Nick Muzashvili. Heavyweight sensation Brock Lesnar won his sixth straight match with a 11-3 major decision over Matt Lamb.
At 125, freshman Leroy Vega decisioned Chris Williams 9-5 to improve his record to 15-4 overall. No. 13 Troy Marr finished the meet with a 10-6 decision over Mike Castillo at 149.
Minnesota improves its record to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, Saturday night for a dual meet at 7:30 p.m.
