Despite taking a penalty at 4:54 of the opening period, the Aeros outshot Minnesota 3-0 during the power play and got on the board at 6:37 when Becky Kellar's pass split the Gopher defense and Cindy Cryderman scored on a breakaway.
Amy Turek gave the Aeors at 2-0 lead with 1:23 to play in the opening period and the scored stayed that way through an evenly-played second period.
The Aeros, 31-3-2, took charge early in the third, getting two goals on nine shots in the opening 3:49 to take a 4-0 lead which brought a goalie change for Minnesota as Crystal Nicholas replaced Erica Killewald.
