GOLDEN GOPHERS ROLL PAST PENN STATE 75-60

StQuincy Lewis and Joel Przybilla scored 24 and 17 points, respectively, as Minnesota defeated Penn State 75-60 at Williams Arena Saturday night. Przybilla, in addition to his career high in points, added 13 rebounds and six blocked shots. The Golden Gophers (10- 2, 1-1) travel to Michigan State on Wednesday.
In a see-saw battle in the first half, the Golden Gophers managed to get some breathing room before intermission with an 8-2 to make it 35-27. Przybilla led the Gophers early on scoring the Gophers' first six points including a slam off of an alley-oop pass from Miles Tarver.
In the second half, the Golden Gophers turned it up a notch and led by as many as 18 en route to the 15 point victory.
In the battle of the centers, Penn State's Calvin Booth scored 17 points and pulled down four rebounds. Minnesota outrebounded the Nittany Lions 47-25.
Kevin Clark was the other Gopher in double figures with 13 points. Tarver added nine points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
