HAUSER HONORED AS WCHA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MariuSophomore goaltender Adam Hauser has been named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last weekend's series against North Dakota at Mariucci Arena.

Hauser, a native of Bovey, Minn., turned aside 44 of 46 shots in Minnesota's 2-2 tie over the Fighting Sioux in the first game of the weekend series on Friday evening, then smothered 30 of 33 shots in Saturday's 3-2 setback to North Dakota. On the weekend, Hauser kicked away 74 of 79 shots for a .937 save percentage against the three-time defending league champions.

Hauser, who has started 40 of the last 41 games for the Golden Gophers, made 31 of his 74 saves on the weekend on shots from the slot area. On the season, Hauser has a 0-2-1 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917.

The first-place Golden Gophers host top-ranked Boston College in a nonconference showdown this weekend at Mariucci Arena. Both Friday and Saturday night games faceoff at 7:05 p.m.
