NIMTZ, GOPHERS CLAIM TITLES AT IOWA STATE MEMORIAL INVITATIONAL

Corinne Nimtz and Rasa Michniovaite finished first and second, leading Minnesota to the team title of the Iowa State Memorial Invitational.

Minnesota scored 36 points to edge the host Cyclones by five points and claim the meet title for the third consecutive year. Drake was a distant third with 84 points with eight schools competing.

Nimtz won her first career invitational in a time of 17:59 to lead the while Michniovaite, slowly recovering from a heavy summer of training and competition, was three seconds back. Victoria Moses, 18:38, Minna Haronoja, 18:39, and Elaine Eggleston, 18:42, took 10th through 12th places.
