MINNESOTA'S MCCOMB NAMED BIG TEN FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

14thUniversity of Minnesota freshman Will (Terrance) McComb was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year after placing 14th at the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 30. He clocked a time of 25:54.35 in the 14th-place finish. McComb, who collected nine of 10 first-place votes for the honor, earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors after placing in the top 15.

The Golden Gophers will head to Champaign, Ill., to compete in the NCAA District V Championships on Saturday, Nov. 13.
