BULLDOGS EARN 1-0 OVER GOPHERS FOR WEEKEND SWEEP
12/4/1999 12:00:00 AM | Athletics
UMD controlled play through much of the first period, outshooting its host 9-3 in the opening 20 minutes, and Eustace scored the game's only goal when she beat Minnesota's Erica Killewald low to the far post.
From that point, the goalies battled it out as the Bulldogs had a 20-18 edge in shots over the final two periods.
Minnesota-Duluth enjoyed six minutes of power-play time in the final period and withstood a late barrage by the Gophers after they pulled Killewald for an extra attacked with 1:11 left to play.
With the victory, the seventh-ranked Bulldogs remain unbeaten at 12-0-0 overall and in league play. Minnesota is 10-5-0 overall and 7-2-0 in league play.
