Courtney Kennedy and Shannon Kennedy along with Winny Brodt each scored two goals and Minnesota fired a school-record 72 shots on goal in downing Augsburg 10-0 at Augsburg Arena.

The Gophers had 34 shots in the opening 20 minutes but were able to get just three past Augsburg goalie Meg Schmidt. Ambria Thomas opened the scoring at 3:03 and Shannon Kennedy tallied just 19 seconds later.

Both players were among a group of Gophers that registered three points. Brodt also had three points as did Jenny Schmidgall, who recorded three assists.

Minnesota outshot the Auggies 72-4 in posting its 11th shutout of the season. Crystal Nicholas had four saves for her sixth shutout while Meg Schmidt had 62 saves.

The Gophers are in action again Sunday, beginning at 4:05 p.m., when they take on Minnesota State, Mankato at the Midwest Wireless Center in Mankato.
