No. 1-ranked Chad Kraft decsioned No. 7 Willie Wineberg 4-0 at 157 to add three more team points. At 165, senior Josh Holiday defeated Dan Rendell with a 14-4 major decision. Minnesota1s lone loss of the night was at 174, where 17th-ranked James Crnich decisioned Matt Kraft 4-2.
The final three matches for Minnesota amounted to 16 team points as junior Brandon Eggum, ranked No. 2 in the nation, defeated Phil Holmgren with a 13-5 major decision at 184 pounds. Senior Tim Hartung recorded his 30th victory of the season at 197 pounds, with his 13th pin over Jared Williams. Finishing out the match was junior Brock Lesnar, ranked No. 2 in the nation, who pinned Jacob Vercelli in 2:52.
Minnesota (17-2; 8-0 Big Ten) will wrestle 18th-ranked Northwestern in Evanston, Ill., Sunday evening to finish out its regular dual meet schedule.
