#2 PURDUE ESCAPES WITH 63-61 WIN OVER MINNESOTA

Minnesota rallied from a 49-36 deficit, going on a 25-12 run over an 11 1/2-minute span, culminating with two Kim Bell free throws that tied the game at 61-61. White-McCarty was fouled by Jackie Tate on a drive to the basket, and made the game-winning free throws. Mindy Hansen missed a desparation 30-footer in Minnesota's final possession.
White-McCarty led Purdue with 20 points, despite a 5-for-20 shooting performance from the field. Ukari Figgs added 12 points and six assists before fouling out. Theresa LeCuyer led Minnesota with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Cassie VanderHeyden added 11 points and Moneeke Bowden tallied 10 points.
The Gophers shot 54 percent from the field in the second half to fuel their rally. Minnesota also won the battle of the boards, 40-27, including a 14-8 edge on the offensive glass. The game was played in front of 4,902 fans at the Sports Pavilion, the second-largest crowd ever to see a basketball game in the building.
Minnesota will conclude their regular season with a game against Wisconsin on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sports Pavilion.
