GOPHER MEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM FALLS TO NO. 5 ILLINOIS

The Golden Gophers were led by senior Jason Krob who turned in a season high 9.8 on the pommel horse to take home first place honors. Krob has now collected three first-place honors in five meets this season. Prior to the meet he was ranked sixth in the nation in the event.
Also collecting honors on the night for the Maroon and Gold were freshman Todd Guilbeau and Justin Conner. Guilbeau tied for third place in the pommel horse with a 9.4, while Justin Connor scored a 8.8 on the horizontal bar which earned him second-place honors. In the all-around competition, junior Chad Conner and Guilbeau tied for third place honors with a total of 54.1.
The Golden Gophers return to action next Saturday night when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the New Mexico Invitational.
