CHRISTOFERSON LEADS GOPHERS IN MINNESOTA CHALLENGE ACTION

FrSophomore Katy Christoferson won two events to lead the No. 14 University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving team at the Minnesota Challenge on Friday. Christoferson won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:05.51 and was joined by Andrea Simakova, Lital Kashriel and Jenny Hennen on the winning 200-yard medley relay team that was clocked at 1:36.05.

Other Gophers winners were Terri Jashinsky in the 50- yard freestyle (23.73) and the 400-yard medley relay of Kashriel, Kelsey Hegener, Emily Deppe and Kim Harrod (3:55.97).

The Minnesota Challenge continues on Saturday at noon at the University Aquatic Center Dorothy L. Sheppard Pool.
