HAUSER COLLECTS SHUTOUT AS MINNESOTA DEFEATS ALASKA-ANCHORAGE 4-0

secFreshman goaltender Adam Hauser stopped all 26 shots he defeated Alaska-Anchorage 4-0 in the first game of the WCHA playoffs. For Hauser, it was his second career shutout. Freshman Erik Wendell tallied a goal and an assist as the Golden Gophers take a 1-0 series lead with the rematch tomorrow night at Mariucci Arena.
Sophomore Aaron Miskovich got Minnesota on the board with his goal at the 9:07 mark of the first period. Miskovich's first two shots were blocked, but on his third attempt, he beat Seawolves' goaltender Gregg Naumenko. Minnesota increased the lead to 2-0 with a one-timer from freshman John Pohl at 3:05 of the second period.
Senior Mike Anderson and freshman Erik Wendell put the finishing touches on the victory. Anderson scored off of a long rebound at 11:34 of the third period and Wendell tipped in a pass from sophomore Erik Westrum at 15:14 to make it 4-0.
