MEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM FALLS TO ILLINOIS-CHICAGO

The Golden Gophers got an outstanding performance from junior Ryan Winterbourne who scored a team season high 56.0 in the all-around competition to bring home first place honors. En route to his career high in the all- around, the Anaheim, Calif. native posted a 9.5 in the floor exercise and a 9.7 on the parallel bars to earn first place honors in those events.
Senior Jason Krob earned first place honors on the pommel horse with a 9.8, which ties his season high score. In eight meets so far this season, Krob has earned four first-place honors, one second and one third. Right behind Krob was freshman Justin Lecher from West St. Paul, Minn. Lecher earned second place honors on the pommel horse with a 9.7.
Freshman Todd Guilbeau tied UIC's Jeremy Koonce for first place on the high bar with a team and personal season high 9.6 with freshman Justin Conner bringing home third place honors in the event with a 9.55. Guilbeau also earned second place honors on the parallel bars with a 9.5.
Minnesota will compete in the Big Ten Championships next Friday and Saturday night at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
