AmeriMinnesota scored a pair of late goals and goalie Erica Killewald stopped 41 shots as the Gophers defeated Brown 3-2 in the third-place game at the American Women's College Hockey Alliance Division I National Championship.

Ambria Thomas got Minnesota on the board first at 7:17 of the second period as she deflected a Tracy Engstrom shot for her 15th goal of the season.

The Bears came back seven minutes later as Meredith Ostrander also scored on a deflection, tipping in a Tara Mounsey shot to even the score at 1-1.

Brown finished the second period with a 21-10 advantage in shots on goal during the second period but Killewald kept her team alive by turning back 20 of those shots and the score remained 2-2 late into the final period.

With 5:20 left on the clock, Tracy Engstrom banged home a loose puck for what appeared to be the game-winner and Nadine Muzerall scored her 30th goal of the season into an empty net with 1:27 left in the game.

However, the Bears went on a power play with 18 seconds to play and Cara Gardner made it 3-2, the first power-play goal allowed by the Gophers in 28 kills.

Minnesota closes out its second season of play with a 29-4-3 record while Brown finishes at 20-7-4.
