WOMEN GOLFERS SECOND AT HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL

Indiana won the team title with 614 (307-307) strokes, and captured the top four individual honors. Minnesota tallied 638 (318-320) for second, while Northwestern was third at 645 (327-318).
Ballou shot a 5-over par 78 in the second round to move into a tie for fifth place at 157 (79-78). Boom and Lepp shot identical rounds of 79 on both days to finish in a tie for seventh place at 158 (79-79).
Indiana's Erin Carney held on to win medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 151. Carney carded a 79 on Sunday after shooting the tournament's only sub-par round, a 1-under 72, on Saturday.
Other Gopher finishes were Kristi Weichert, who tied for 25th at 165 (81-84) and Jenny Bruun, who tied for 34th at 169 (85-84). Megan Stier competed on an individual basis and placed in a tie for 30th at 167 (88-79).
