CHIMKO BECOMES TWO-TIME ALL-AMERICAN

BoiMinnesota junior Nicole Chimko earned the second All-American honor of her career during the final day of the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Boise State.

Chimko matcher her seventh-seed standing with a seventh-place finish in the discus with a throw of 178 feet. It was her second All-American honor, going with her third-place finish in the javelin last year.

Gopher teammate Aubrey Schmitt also competed in the discus, finishing one place ahead of her 17th-place seeding, claiming 16th with a throw of 161-10.

Minnesota tallied eight points in the competition with Chimko and Linda Lindqvist, who placed third in the javelin Friday, accounting for the team scoring.
