STARTING TIMES FOR SIX 1999 GOLDEN GOPHER FOOTBALL GAMES ANNOUNCED

With the exception of the Illinois State game on Sept. 18 which was not selected for live television, all game times and television picks are in accordance with the Big Ten Conference's contractual television commitments.
Head Coach Glen Mason's Golden Gophers will open the season at the Metrodome on Sept. 4 against the Mid- American Conference's Ohio University Bobcats at 11:10 a.m. The opener will be televised live on Midwest Sports Channel.
The Golden Gophers will also appear live on MSC the following week when they play host to Northeast Louisiana at 7 p.m. at the Metrodome. The evening start time is due to a Twins conflict earlier that day. Minnesota will close out its non-conference schedule with a regular kickoff time of 1:30 p.m. vs. Illinois State on Sept. 18. That game will be televised on a tape-delayed basis on MSC at noon on Sept. 19.
Three Big Ten games - at Illinois on Oct. 16, the homecoming game vs. Purdue on Oct. 30 and at Penn State on Nov. 6 - will begin at 11:10 a.m. and be televised on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Regional.
The start times and television selections for the Golden Gophers' other five Big Ten games will be decided either 12 days or six days prior to the game per the Big Ten's television selection process. Every Golden Gopher game can once again be heard live on WCCO-AM (830).
