Minnesota defensive lineman had 17.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks last season
Minnesota standout defensive lineman Anthony Smith was named to the 2026 Walter Camp Preseason All-America Second Team.
The 6-6, 285-pound Smith was one of the most disruptive players in college football last season and is poised for another successful year in his final season in Maroon and Gold.
He logged 17.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks last season as he was named All-Big Ten First Team. For his career, Smith has 31.0 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks.
Minnesota career records are in reach for the Shippensburg, Pa., native. Willie VanDeSteeg (2005-08) is the program record holder for tackles for loss with 43.5, while Karon Riley (1999-00) holds the career sack record with 29.0.
This is the second preseason All-American honor for Smith, as Phil Steele Publications listed him as a preseason First Team All-American.
