MICHIGAN DEFEATS GOPHERS IN WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS

Sophomore Megan Beuckens placed second on the floor exercise with a 9.85 score. Christensen was fourth at 9.80. On vault, Beuckens and sophomore MaryAnne Kelley led the Gophers by tying for fifth at 9.675. Kelley placed second in the all around with a total of 38.85.
Michigan's Sarah Cain won the vault (9.825) and all- around (39.20) and tied for first on the balance beam (9.85). Karina Senior of Michigan won the floor exercise with a score of 9.875.
Three Minnesota athletes fell from the beam, leading to a team score of 47.425, the Gophers' lowest event total of the meet. Minnesota's highest finisher on the beam was Kelley, who placed sixth at 9.75.
