#10 GOPHERS DOMINATE FIRST DAY OF TRIPLE DUALS

23rdThe 10th-ranked Minnesota men have a commanding lead over each of the teams in the two-day Big Ten dual meets at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. In the men's meets, the Gophers lead 23rd-ranked Purdue, 137-46, and 24th-ranked Wisconsin, 148-33.

The Gophers won nine of the 10 events contested. Minnesota's Max von Bodungen edged out teammate Brandon Crook for a 1-2 finish in the 200 freestyle. Gopher Alex Massura led a 1-2-3 Minnesota sweep in the 100 backstroke, winning in a time of 48.04. Minnesota's Jeff Hackler won the 100 breaststroke in 56.85, .02 faster than teammate Dov Malnik. Gophers Keam Ang and Yoav Meiri combined for a 1-2 sweep in the 200 butterfly, while teammates Ricardo Dornelas and Grant Butler did likewise in the 50 freestyle. The Gopher men won both relay races, the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay. Dan Croaston easily won 1 meter diving with a score of 512.10 points.

The meet concludes Saturday at noon.
