sThe University of Minnesota women's rowing team placed fifth in the Club Eight event at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.

Riverside Boat Club won the race in a time of 17 minutes, 20.69 seconds. Boston Masters' Women placed second in 17:24.66. The Gopher team of Beth Hornby, Amber Riopel, Heidi Rose, Meaghan Harvey, Angela Hedin, Erin Streff</ a>, Katie Frankson, Nina Palmer and coxswain Libby Sharrow placed fifth in 19:09.42.

The Club Eight event, one of 20 races held Saturday and Sunday, featured 70 boats competing along a 3-mile course on the Charles River. The Regatta includes over 6,000 rowers from more than 300 clubs, colleges and universities worldwide.
