WESTRUM GOAL GIVES MINNESOTA 2-1 VICTORY OVER ALASKA-ANCHORAGE

MariWith less than four minutes to play, Erik Westrum scored on the power-play to break a 1-1 tie and give Minnesota a 2-1 win over Alaska-Anchorage at Mariucci Arena on Friday night. The rematch is set for 7:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Minnesota jumped ahead first as Troy Riddle notched his fifth goal of the season at the 15:43 mark of the first period. Jordan Leopold and Matt DeMarchi picked up their sixth and third assists, respectively. The Seawolves responded quickly as Steve Cygan beat goalie Adam Hauser at 18:51.

After a scoreless second period, Alaska-Anchorage's Petr Chytka was penalized for holding. Entering the game 12-of-24 on the power-play, Minnesota capitalized as Dylan Mills and John Pohl assisted on the Westrum goal.

Adam Hauser stayed perfect as he stopped 22 of 23 shots he faced.

With the win, Minnesota improves to 5-0-0 on the season and 3-0-0 in the WCHA. The Seawolves fall to 2-3-0 and 0-1-0.
