WOMEN'S GOLF RANKED NO. 13 IN GOLFWEEK NATIONAL POLL

higheThe University of Minnesota women's golf team is ranked No. 13 in this week's Golfweek magazine's national poll, the highest national ranking in Golden Gopher history. The Golden Gophers are the highest ranked team from the Big Ten Conference, which is also represented by Ohio State (17), Northwestern (19), Michigan State (20) and Purdue (21) in the top 25 teams.

Previously, the highest the Gophers had been ranked was No. 17 in the Rolex Golfstat national poll on March 31, 1997.

The Gophers have placed in the top five in all three of its fall tournaments thus far. Minnesota's top finishes were capturing the team title at the Michigan State Mary Fossum Invitational and placing third at the Lady Northern Invitational.

Senior Jenny Bruun (Crookston, Minn./Crookston) is ranked individually at No. 27. Bruun won medalist honors at the Mary Fossum Invitational.

The Gophers' next competition is at the Shootout at The Legends in Franklin, Ind., Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 9-10.
