SEIDL'S EARLY GOAL PROVES TO BE GAMEWINNER

Seidl collected a head pass from Kyndra Hesse just outside the goalie box and nudged it past Hoosier goalkeeper Shannon Daugharty at the 4:37 mark for the game-winning goal. Rachael Roth was also credited with the second assist with a high left-footed pass into the defensive zone from the end line. The goal came on the Gophers' first shot of the match.
Indiana outshot Minnesota by a 16-9 margin but the Gophers held a slight 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Despite the Hoosiers firing 11 second-half shots, Gopher keeper Julie Eibensteiner needed just one save to secure the shutout and collected five for the match.
Minnesota's next match is Friday, Oct. 13, when the Gophers host Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Gophers' final home match of the regular season. The Gophers will honor seniors Seidl, Erin Holland and Nicole Chimko prior to the start of the 7 p.m. match.
