BRANAGH WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE BIG TEN WEEKLY AWARD

Minnesota senior volleyball player Nicole Branagh was chosen as the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week, sharing the award with Alija Pittenger of Michigan. It is the second consecutive week that Branagh has earned the award.

Branagh averaged 7.29 kills and 3.86 digs per game in Minnesota's two victories last week over Purdue and Illinois. Branagh currently leads the Big Ten with 5.57 kills per game overall and 5.95 kills per game in Big Ten play. She has 2,226 career kills, just 74 shy of former Gopher Katrien DeDecker's all-time Big Ten career record. Branagh has won the Big Ten Player of the Week award three times this season and seven times in her career.

The eighth-ranked Minnesota volleyball team is 25-2 overall, 14-2 in the Big Ten, and tied for first place in the conference with sixth-ranked Wisconsin. The Golden Gophers will host Michigan on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Sports Pavilion.
