MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 24TH AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

WilThe University of Minnesota cross country team wrapped up the 2000 season with a 24th place finish at the NCAA Championships today in Ames, Iowa.
Will McComb was Minnesota's top finisher at 42nd with a time of 31:21.7. Senior Jason Owen finished his career strong, placing 76th, the second best finish on the team with a time of 31:45.7.
Arkansas was the winning team with 83 points. The individual champion was Keith Kelly from Providence College.
This was the fourth consecutive year the Golden Gopher men's cross country team has competed in the NCAA Championships. Their highest finish was 15th place last season.
