HAMILTON EARNS WALTER CAMP ALL-AMERICA TEAM

YestSenior captain Ben Hamilton was awarded Walter Camp All-America Team honors today. It is the center's second All-America accolade in as many days. Yesterday, Hamilton was named to the Football News First Team All-American list, along with teammate, and sophomore punter, Preston Gruening.
Hamilton is the 31st Golden Gopher to be selected to the Walter Camp list. Former defensive back Tyrone Carter was given the honor last year, for his success throughout the 1999 season. Hamilton is considered one of the best offensive lineman in Golden Gopher history. His 84 pancake blocks this season are a career-high. Hamilton is up for many other awards, including being one of three finalists for the Lombardi Award, which is presented to the nation's most outstanding lineman.
