WOMEN SWIMMERS EASILY DEFEAT FLORIDA ATLANTIC, 157-77

Minnesota had three double-winners in the meet. Sophomore Dana Baum took the 1000 freestyle in 10:13.15 and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.34, senior Katy Christoferson won the 100 butterfly in 57.76 and the 400 individual medley in 4:29.50, and senior Jinny Smedstad won the 200 freestyle in 1:51.80 and the 100 freestyle in 52.24. First-year swimmer Melissa Schold led a 1-2-3 Gopher sweep in the 100 breaststroke, while senior Elizabeth Pierce did likewise in the 200 breaststroke.
The Gophers will be back in the pool next Saturday at Iowa State at 1 p.m.
