HAUSER HONORED AS WCHA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Wisconsin Junior goaltender Adam Hauser has been named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last weekend's sweep of then-second-ranked Wisconsin at Mariucci Arena. With the sweep, the Golden Gophers moved to number two in the latest national rankings and at 7-0-1, are off to their best start since 1987-88.
Hauser, a native of Bovey, Minn., shut down a potent Badger offense as he stopped 67-of-69 shots during the two-game sweep. On Friday night, he collected his fifth career shutout in a 4-0 victory. Hauser stopped all 31 shots he faced. In Saturday's 5-2 victory, Hauser stopped 36-of- 38 shots to earn his seventh victory of the season.
Hauser ranks third among WCHA goaltenders with a 1.86 goals-against- average and .938 winning percentage. He is sixth in save percentage at .919.
The second-ranked Golden Gophers travel to Grand Forks, N.D., to battle the seventh-ranked Fighting Sioux of North Dakota.
