GOPHER SWIMMERS AND DIVERS TO COMPETE AT IOWA STATE

seThe two-time defending Big Ten champion Minnesota women's swimming and diving team travels to Iowa State for a dual meet Saturday at 1 p.m. The 16th-ranked Golden Gophers are 2-0 in dual meets this season, after defeating North Dakota and Florida Atlantic.

Minnesota is 16th in Speedo America's CSCAA Preseason Poll, as voted by swimming and diving coaches across the nation. The Gophers are one of six Big Ten teams listed in the poll. The next ranking will be released on Thursday, Nov. 16. The poll:

Minnesota won 11 of 13 swimming events and defeated Florida Atlantic, 157-77 Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla. The Gophers had three double- winners in senior Katy Christoferson (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville), junior Jinny Smedstad (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/John F. Kennedy) and sophomore Dana Baum (Carson City, Nev./Carson). The two events Minnesota did not win were the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
