GOLDEN GOPHER SWIMMERS RANKED NO. 10 IN THE NATION

BigThe Golden Gopher men's swimming and diving team is ranked 10th in the nation according to Speedo America's College Swimming Coaches Association of America preseason poll. The are the highest rank Big Ten team. Michigan is just below at no.12. Penn State and Wisconsin are also in the top 25 and Indiana, Purdue and Ohio State are receiving votes.

Minnesota finished tied for seventh at the NCAA Championships last year and had a perfect 7-0 dual meet record. Head Coach Dennis Dale returns nearly everyone from that squad and adds several talented freshmen. The team is reaching to bring the Big Ten Championships back to Minnesota. They have advantage, as they host the Big Ten meet at the University Aquatic Center, this spring, but, as always, the Big Ten is extremely competitive.

The Golden Gophers are currently 2-1 this season. They host the Minnesota Invitational Nov. 17-19 at the Aquatic Center.
