DARTMOUTH SWEEPS MINNESOTA WITH 4-0 VICTORY

12/10/2000 12:00:00 AM | Athletics

For the Gophers, the two losses marked the second time they have ever been swept in a weekend series and third time they have lost back-to-back games.

Dartmouth got an early goal, two minutes 12 seconds into the opening period, from Sarah Clark and a late first-period goal, with 29.2 second on the clock, from Jennifer Wiehn.

The Big Grenn tacked on two more in the second period. The first, coming at the 6:20 mark when Lydia Wheatley, while being tied up in front of the net, managed to redirect a Carly Haggard pass over the should of Gopher netminder Erica Killewald. Kim McCullough scored on the power play with 5:10 left in the period when she carried the puck out of the right faceoff circle, around a Minnesota defender and shot the puck through Killewald's pads.

From that point, Dartmouth goalie Meaghan Cahill did the rest, recording a 30-save shutout as her team outshot its guest 35-30.
