GOLDEN GOPHERS ANNOUNCE 2001 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET SALE

footbalThe University of Minnesota Athletics Ticket Office has announced an "Early Bird" football season ticket sale that will run through Feb. 28, 2001. One of only four Big Ten schools to play in a bowl game in each of the past two seasons, the Golden Gophers will have one of the most attractive home schedules in school history in 2001. Minnesota will be looking for a school-record third consecutive bowl appearance.

Through Feb. 28 for $156 each, fans can purchase season tickets for the six-game home slate, which features defending Big Ten Champion Purdue, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. After Feb. 28, the price will increase to $168.

Fans who purchase "Early Bird" season tickets will also be able to purchase additional single-game tickets at the rate of $26 per game (limit of four tickets for the Wisconsin game). Season ticket holders also have bowl game ticket priority. The general public single-game sale starts April 16 at the price of $38.50 for the Wisconsin game and $29.50 for each of the remaining five games.
