exte Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - The University of Minnesota football team concluded its final practice at Pine Crest High School on Tuesday with temperatures in the 70s and with the sun making its first extended appearance. The Golden Gophers will have a walk-through at Pro Player Stadium on Wednesday.

Basking in the sunshine, head coach Glen Mason ran his players through a light, but crisp workout as the team practiced in shorts and pads. The majority of the time was spent working the offense and defense against their respective scout teams.

Following Tuesday's practice, the Golden Gophers will participate in the annual Beach Bash at Beach Place, located a few blocks from the team hotel. At the event, teams from both Minnesota and North Carolina State will be treated to a "Battle of the Bands" by the Wolfpack and Golden Gopher marching bands. The University of Minnesota marching band is scheduled to arrive in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday morning.

During the Beach Bash, the Golden Gophers will also participate in Media Day, as the press will get its final opportunity to interview coaches and athletes before Thursday's game.
