GOPHER SWIMMERS FINISH TENTH AT TEXAS INVITATIONAL

Sophomore Dana Baum had Minnesota's best individual finish in the three-day meet Sunday, taking seventh place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:53.27. The 400 free relay team of Jinny Smedstad, Meghan Sonstegard, Arianna Gardner, and Baum finished ninth in 3:27.64.
UCLA rallied on the final day to win the team competition with 553 1/2 points. Stanford finished second with 529 1/2 points, followed by host Texas with 501 1/2 points. There were 11 nationally ranked teams competing in the meet.
