GOPHER WOMEN LOSE TO WISCONSIN, 66-55

In improving to 13-9 overall and 6-6 in Big Ten play, the Badgers converted 28 of 35 free throws, while Minnesota was limited to 12 of 15 from the line. The Gophers dropped to 8-15 overall and 1-11 in the Big Ten.
Tamara Moore led a dominating Badger low post attack with 22 points and eight rebounds. Jesse Stomski notched her seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and LaTonya Sims scored 12 points.
Minnesota rallied from a 33-22 halftime deficit to close the lead to two points, 43-41, with 10:36 remaining in the second half. But taking advantage of 23 Gopher fouls, the Badgers converted 17 of 19 free throws in the second half to produce the final margin of victory.
Moneeke Bowden led the Gophers with her third double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and adding a team-high 11 rebounds. Kim Prince came off the bench to score 14 points, adding five rebounds.
Cassie VanderHeyden had 10 points and five assists, and Erin Olson had six points, six assists and three steals for the Gophers.
The Gophers are off for a week before resuming Big Ten play on Thursday, Feb. 17 at Northwestern.
