GOLDEN GOPHERS CRUISE PAST CC TIGERS 6-2

Miskovich scored the Golden Gophers' second goal of the game at 10:16 of the first period, and assisted on the eventual game-winning goal, a power-play talley by sophomore Pat O'Leary, at 12:02 of the first period that gave Minnesota a 3-0 lead at the end of the first.
At 13:43 of the second period, Miskovich feathered a perfect pass to sophomore John Pohl, who split the Colorado College defense, and buried a wrist shot past Tiger goaltender Colin Zulianello for a 4-0 Minnesota lead.
Colorado College would try to make a game of it as they scored two goals just 39 second a part in the first 5:03 of the third period to cut the Minnesota lead in half at 4-2.
But junior Erik Westrum added an insurance goal at 14:42 and Miskovich picked up his second goal of the game, his fourth shorthanded talley of the season, at the 15:57 mark to put away the Tigers. Westrum's goal extended his scoring streak to 19 games, which is the second longest single-season scoring streak in Golden Gopher history, and the fifth-longest overall in the Minnesota record books.
Minnesota netminder Adam Hauser kept the Tigers at bay pushing aside 26 of 28 shots to record the win.
The same two teams face off again tomorrow night in the series finale. Minnesota will be looking for its first series sweep of Colorado College at the new Mariucci Arena.
