GOPHERS POST FOUR PROVISIONAL MARKS AT HUSKER INVITATIONAL

SMinnesota had three competitors post NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the University of Nebraska.

Aubrey Schmitt led the way by putting up provisional efforts in both the shot put and weight throw. She was fourth in both events, throwing 15.34 meters (50 feet, 4 inches) in the shot put and a school record 18.86m (61-10) in the weight throw. On the season, she seven provisional marks.

Christine Gulbrandsen was also fourth in the triple jump. She soared a season-best 12.81m (42-0 1/2) for her second provisional effort of the season.

Beth Howard had her third provisional mark in the weight throw, finishing ninth with an effort of 17.70m (58-1).

Corinne Nimtz was Minnesota's top place finisher, placing second in the 5,000-meter run in 17 minutes, 10.07 seconds.
